Most data recovery programs that exist that help recover accidentally deleted files. These data recovery programs can recuperate, or “undelete” files on a computer. Files that have been deleted and then lately emptied from the Recycle Bin are often still present on the hard drive, USB drive or media card and can be restored using free data recovery programs. Some of the most commonly used tools include Recuva recovery software and Pandora recovery. Both are open source but differ in performance. (William, 2013)

Pandora Recovery permits one to find and recuperate recoverable erased documents from NTFS and Fat-organized volumes. Pandora Recovery expands the list of supported file formats to include FAT16 and FAT32. As a result, this allows recovery of files deleted from digital camera cards, USB flash drives, Win98 and Windows XP hard drives. Pandora is a simple yet effective program which aids in recovering lost files. On the other hand, Recuva has the following features. It Undelete files on your computer, allows for recovery from damaged or formatted disks, recovery of deleted email and recovery of deleted iPod music.  With Recuva, it is also possible to restore unsaved Word documents. The program is designed in a way that it has full Windows OS support and many languages. The success rate of Pandora and Recuva is almost similar but most people prefer Recuva due to its numerous features such as deep scan. (William, 2013)
